Puckle LP

2023

3D printed miniatures, a 42 page visual compendium and 13 track album.

Murlo is back with his second album, Puckle. Building upon the world-building aspirations of 2019’s Dolos, the Manchester-based multidisciplinary artist effortlessly combines innovative musical production, intricate visual artistry and skillful storytelling to deliver a captivating audio-visual experience.

Puckle loosely revolves around the theme of autonomy in an era of advanced technology. Through the lens of a cult that receives transformative gifts from a synthetic deity in the forest, the album explores both individual and societal impacts.

In addition to Murlo's intricate visual imagery, the album comes with a limited run of 3D miniatures which he has designed and printed to bring elements of the story to life. As well as a printed visual compendium that delves deeper into the immersive lore of the album.

“Combining my visual work with music has always been a way to add another layer to what I'm writing, a way to engage the audience in a more immersive way. The music is more than just an accompaniment to the narrative - it’s a character in its own right. I’ve dedicated the past two years developing this album, from drawing in sketchbooks to sculpting in 3d software, to 3d printing and lots of hours writing music. It’s never easy drawing a line under a project and saying, “yes this is done”, there’s always more and more I want to add but I’m proud to finally give this up.”
